These terms govern your use of DJHOLIC, an interactive live-music platform where hosts and venues create events, artists perform, and guests join, check in and pay to request songs into a live queue. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them, to our Privacy Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy and Cookie Policy.
DJHOLIC is operated by Isan Group Pty Ltd (ABN 44 666 881 107, ACN 666 881 107), an Australian proprietary company (“we”, “us”). Contact: our contact form.
DJHOLIC launches in Australia. Prices are in Australian dollars (AUD), and artists and hosts are paid to bank accounts in supported countries — Australia at launch (see Section 5). We may add more countries later, after checking which countries our payment provider supports.
1. Who can use DJHOLIC
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. We do not check your age when you sign up, so by creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or older.
- You must give accurate details and keep them current. One person, one account; do not share your sign-in codes.
- There are separate roles — Guest, Artist (DJ, singer or band) and Host (a venue or a private host). A role is not an authority to act in another: a host is not an artist, and neither is DJHOLIC staff. Staff accounts are not covered by these terms.
- Individual events may impose their own entry rules, including age limits, set by the host. We do not check them for you.
2. Our role
DJHOLIC provides the software that connects guests, artists and hosts and processes the payments between them. We do not organise, perform at, or run the venues of the events listed. Hosts and artists are independent of us — not our employees, contractors or agents — and responsible for their own events, performances, safety, permits, licences and conduct. A song request is a request, not a guarantee: the artist and host decide what is played and when, and a request can be declined, skipped or never reached. When you pay for a pass or a song request, we collect the payment through Stripe, keep our platform fee (which includes GST) and the rest is the host's or artist's share (Section 5).
3. Guests: requests, passes, wallet, subscriptions
- Song requests. The price (base, skip-queue, dedication surcharge and any tip) is shown before you confirm. Requests enter a live queue. A skip-queue request is placed ahead of standard ones; it does not guarantee being played. See the Refund Policy for when you are refunded.
- Passes. A pass is a personal, single-use admission credential, issued as a QR code and consumed when scanned at the door. A lost or shared code can be used by whoever scans it first. Pass sales may open early for VIP / Premium subscribers where the host enables it.
- Transferring or reselling passes. Passes can be transferred to another person inside the DJHOLIC app, where the event allows it. The person you transfer a pass to is bound by these terms and the event's rules. Reselling a pass for more than its face value (the price it was sold for) is not allowed, and neither is selling or trading passes outside the app. Do not use the service to run a ticket-touting business; we may cancel passes and restrict accounts that do.
- Wallet. Your wallet holds prepaid funds that can be spent on song requests. You can ask us to refund any unused balance (see the Refund Policy); balances do not expire. It is not a bank account or an interest-bearing instrument, and the balance is not transferable to another person.
- Subscriptions. VIP and Premium are optional paid tiers, billed monthly or annually and renewing automatically until cancelled. VIP gives priority queue placement for your requests; Premium adds a monthly allowance of free requests (wallet payments only) and, where a host enables it, early access to pass sales. Benefits depend on an active subscription. See the Refund Policy for cancellation.
- Prices and GST. Prices are shown in Australian dollars on the screen before you pay, and they include GST. Isan Group Pty Ltd is registered for GST, and the platform fee we keep includes GST. Receipts and payment emails say that prices include GST.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card details. You authorise us and our providers to charge the method you choose. A payment that fails or is reversed may cancel the related request or pass. Please contact support before filing a chargeback for a charge we can resolve through the refund process.
5. Artists and hosts: earnings, split and payouts
How revenue is split.- Hosts are not paid for hosting. A host earns only from (a) pass sales for events they create, after payment processing fees, and (b) the song-request revenue share on host-organised events, for example a private party where the host pays the DJ outside the platform.
- Song-request payments (the song portion) on an event where the platform books the DJ: 30% to the platform, 70% to the artist, 0% to the host.
- Song-request payments on a host-organised event (a venue, club or private host): 30% to the platform, and the remaining 70% shared between the host and the artist in the proportion the host sets when creating the event. The artist sees that split on the booking request before accepting it. If the host has already paid the artist outside the platform, the host may keep the artist's part, but only if the artist agrees to that on the booking.
- Tips: 100% to the performing artist.
The split for your event is shown on the event. It is fixed when the event first leaves draft, so a later change by us affects only events published afterwards. We may change the platform's share and any other split or fee at any time, as set out in section 14.
- Earnings accrue when a request is played. Unplayed, declined, cancelled or refunded requests earn nothing, and a refund can reduce earnings that have not been paid out. Earnings from a recent event are held for a short time after the event before they can be withdrawn, so that card chargebacks can arrive first.
- Payouts. Artists and hosts are paid through Stripe Connect Express, to a bank account in their own name in a supported country (Australia at launch). There is no scheduled payout: you request a payout when you want one. A payout needs a balance above the minimum payout amount shown on your payout screen, and recent earnings are held for a short time after an event (see above). Hosts request a payout in the app and our team then sends it. Timing also depends on verification and our payment providers.
- Verification (KYC). Artists must submit an identity document and proof of address before being verified or paid. We may refuse, suspend or hold payouts where verification fails or fraud is suspected, and we may ask for further information to meet anti-money-laundering obligations.
- Taxes. You are responsible for your own tax obligations on what you earn, including income tax and GST. If you are registered for GST in Australia, you may need to charge GST on your share. DJHOLIC does not give tax advice and does not withhold tax from your payouts. The platform fee we keep includes GST. We do not currently issue tax invoices for your share, so keep your own records of what you earn.
- Events you create. Describe them accurately, keep to the schedule, honour booked artists, and cancel promptly if you cannot proceed — cancelling triggers refunds to guests, and repeated or abusive cancellations may be restricted. You are responsible for the safety of your venue and for compliance with the laws that apply to it, including capacity and permits.
6. Music licensing
DJHOLIC is a request and payments platform. It does not grant any licence to perform, communicate to the public or play music, and does not supply the audio. The venue and host are responsible for holding every licence needed for the public performance of music at their events — in Australia, typically through OneMusic Australia, the joint licence from APRA AMCOS and PPCA — and artists are responsible for what they play. DJHOLIC does not hold music licences for events. When a host sets up a venue, we ask them to confirm that they hold the licences their events need. That confirmation is the host's own statement; we do not verify it, and it is not a guarantee by us. A host or venue that runs events without the licences it needs is in breach of these terms.
7. Alcohol and venue responsibility
Venues and hosts are solely responsible for the sale and service of alcohol at their events: holding the licence, serving responsibly, refusing service to anyone who is intoxicated or under age, and checking age at the point of service. DJHOLIC does not sell alcohol and is not a liquor licensee. Where a venue offers food and drink ordering through DJHOLIC, the order is paid for at the venue and the venue serves it, so the venue's licence and responsible-service duties apply. Please drink responsibly and look after your friends.
8. Acceptable use, moderation, reports and appeals
You agree not to:
- post song titles, dedications, reviews, chat messages or profile content that is abusive, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, threatening, defamatory, illegal or infringes someone's rights;
- impersonate anyone, give false identity or KYC documents, or use another person's payment method without permission;
- try to avoid fees, abuse refunds, create fake requests or reviews, or manipulate the queue or ratings;
- probe, scrape, overload or break the service, or attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours;
- use the service to harass other attendees, artists or hosts.
How moderation works:
- Song requests (title, artist, album and dedication text) and reviews go through an automatic profanity filter and, where enabled, an AI-based moderation check. Anything flagged is not auto-approved: it waits for the artist or host to review it.
- Artists and hosts can decline or skip any request. Staff can block particular songs platform-wide; a blocked song is refused at request time. The block matches the song and artist name closely, so variants may not be caught.
- Reports, disputes and appeals. Guests and artists can report a person or content, open a payment dispute, and appeal a suspension from within the app. Our staff review them and record the outcome and any refund; a resolution records the decision and an admin then carries it out. We respond to reports and complaints as soon as possible, and we prioritise urgent safety reports. Our staff decide the outcome.
- Staff can remove content, hold payouts, suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, and keep records of what happened.
9. Your content and our brand
You keep ownership of what you upload or write. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display and share it as needed to run the service (for example showing an artist profile, a dedication to the room, or a review). You confirm you have the right to use it. DJHOLIC, its logo and the software are ours or our licensors'; these terms give you no right to use them. If you think content on DJHOLIC infringes your rights, tell us through our contact form and we will look into it.
10. Suspension, closing your account
You can stop using DJHOLIC at any time and delete your account from your settings, whether you are a guest, artist or host. Deletion has a 30-day grace period during which you can undo it, and some financial records are kept for 7 years, as described in the Privacy Policy. We can suspend or close an account for breach of these terms, fraud, legal requirement, or risk to others. Money owed to you at that point is handled under the Refund Policy and the payouts rules above, subject to any amount we must hold or recover.
11. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) — including that services are provided with due care and skill and are fit for the purpose we told you about. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a right or remedy you have under that law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Where a consumer guarantee applies and the law allows us to limit our liability, we limit it, at our option, to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
12. Disclaimers and liability
Subject to Section 11, the service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, that an event will happen as advertised, that a song will be played, or the conduct of other users, hosts, artists and third-party venues. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for events outside our reasonable control.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live. We do not require arbitration.
Complaints. If you have a complaint, use our contact form or raise a support ticket in the app. We will acknowledge it and try to resolve it as soon as possible; if you are not satisfied you may go to your local consumer regulator (in Australia, the ACCC or your state fair-trading office).
14. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, our fees, the revenue split, our other policies and the features of the service at any time and without prior notice. We aim to tell users about policy updates, for example by email or in the app, but we do not promise to. The “last updated” date above shows the current version, and we record the version you accept when you create an account; continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it. Events already published keep the revenue split that was fixed for them when they were published.
