Create an event
Fill in one form: title, description, times, type, genres, venue, capacity and passes. The event starts as a draft.
- Open Events and choose Create event.
- Fill in the title (3 to 100 characters), description (10 to 1,000), start and end time (the end must be after the start), event type, genres (at least one), your venue and the capacity (1 to 10,000).
- In Access and passes, choose whether the event is private and set the pass price and number of passes. See Sell passes and Run a private party.
- Save. You see "Event created as a draft". Guests cannot see a draft.
Event types are party, wedding, corporate, birthday, festival, club night, private event, concert and other. We generate the join code for you.
Start and end times are taken in the time zone of the device you create the event on. Create your event from a device set to Melbourne time, then check the time on the public event page.
You can change details later on the event's Details tab while it is a draft, published or live. Once it is published its start cannot be moved into the past and the join code cannot be changed; once it is live, the start, end, location, capacity and join code are locked. If you change the start time or location of a published event, attendees are told by email and push notification.
